Client Overview

Vertex Manufacturing engaged Destro Technologies to build an immersive AR/VR platform designed to train new operators, visualize complex machine builds, and support remote assembly supervision. The objective was to scale training, reduce travel required for field teams, and reduce error rates in on-site installations.

Project Summary

Destro Technologies delivered an end-to-end AR/VR solution:


  1. A VR module for new hires to virtually walk through the factory, learn machine anomalies and simulate assembly tasks.
  2. An AR mobile/web overlay app for field technicians to scan real machines on-site and visualize step-by-step assembly instructions, part placement, and maintenance overlays.
  3. Integration with Vertex’s ERP and training LMS to track progress, issue tasks, and log completion metrics

Challenges

  1. Training new operators was time-intensive and required machinery downtime.
  2. On-site assembly errors were high due to complex component layouts and lack of visual aids.
  3. Field supervisors had to travel frequently to remote sites, increasing costs and delays.
  4. No interactive, scalable way to simulate machine builds before physical installation.
